WALKATHON 2020 - POSTPONED

Due to the current COVID-19 Pandemic, we have made the difficult decision to postpone our 25th Walkathon, planned for mid May 2020.

In order to reduce the risk to the public and our attendees we believe that this is the right thing to do, we are working with Coventry City Council and The War Memorial Park Service to find an alternative date later in the year.

As Lions we have a responsibility to play our part in containing the spread of the virus whilst ensuring the safety of our friends and attendees. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep everyone updated on social media.

If you have paid a registration fee, we will make contact with you via email and offer to either refund you or to hold a place for you at our later event.

Join us for our 25th year of the Coventry Walkathon

The Coventry Leofric Lions Walkathon will take place on the Sunday 17th May 2020 at the War Memorial Park and will again provide an opportunity for local Charities and good causes to raise money with Coventry Leofric Lions Club making this possible.

We have moved the date forward a week because of the change in the Bank Holiday and are looking to encourage a greater number to support the charity of their choice.

A walk around the Park is 1 ¾ miles and each walker, depending on their choice, can do one or more laps. There is also a shorter route for those with particular health issues.

Many walkers choose to wear a Fancy Dress and prizes are on offer for Children under 16 and adults plus a team prizes of £100 for the best dressed charity group of over 10 people and for the Charity with the largest number of walkers on the day.

You are welcome to bring your dog but please remember to bring a bag to clean up any mess!

It is our ambition to arrange a day of fun supported by Vic Minett from BBC CWR and with entertainment provided by the “Crew Girls” dance group and the “Step up Singers” before the start.

Over the last 24 years £300,000 has been raised by local charities and it will be great to see them benefit again directly with their supporters involvement on the day.

What is the Handling Charge for?

To ensure tickets are delivered safely and securely and to keep the price as low as possible for you, the ticket buyer, Leofric Lions generally uses our E-ticket system unless otherwise stated.

For this service we charge a small Handling Fee to cover the debit/credit card processing fees, customer services, processing and distribution of tickets and our secure server costs. We always try to keep these costs to an absolute minimum. If you feel at any time that our prices are not fair or competitive we'd be happy to hear from you.

Delivery

If you have ordered physical paper tickets there is a further Delivery cost added to cover the delivery of your order through the Royal Mail network.

We always endeavour to keep these costs as low as possible to merely cover the costs of postage. We only charge you one Delivery cost per order so if there is a big group of you recommend purchasing larger amounts in one order.

When you purchase tickets through Leofric Lions, the full face value of the ticket is shown. This price is the price set by the event organiser and we pay this full amount to the organiser without any deductions.
